The vision of Multiplying Ministry is exciting. We are inspired as we consider the amazing potential we have to touch people’s lives and to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ by multiplying our ministry here at Hibben.
Our hope for this campaign is based on God’s word found in the Gospel of Mark 6:34-44. It is the story of Jesus and his disciples feeding the crowd of 5,000 with five loaves and two fish. Jesus was moved with compassion for the hungry and asked his disciples to feed them, a seemingly impossible task! Taking the meager resources the disciples came up with, Jesus gave thanks, blessed and multiplied the small amount into an abundance to more than meet the need. We believe that God will do the same here at Hibben. God will bless what we offer and abundantly multiply our ministry.
We are grateful for all who are participating in Multiplying Ministry. Some of you are taking on leadership roles. Some are volunteering for a variety of tasks. We are studying God’s word and learning what it means to be stewards of God's gifts. We encourage you to be praying about how God may work through you to make a real difference in the ministry of Hibben UMC. We are looking forward to the day when Hibben is free of debt and able to finance more ministry rather than mortgage!
On Sunday, May 2nd, as a part of our worship service, families and individuals will have the opportunity to respond to the challenge of Multiplying Ministry. We believe that after weeks of praying, God will lead you in your response.
We look forward to celebrating God’s faithfulness with you on Commitment Sunday!
